Summary:<b>Abstract :</b><p align="justify"> <br /> Land use planning needs land use status maps as a tool to coordinate sectors interested. However, in West Kalimantan, not all of the institutions can produce these map because of their limited capabilities. Besides, available maps have not the same reference and contain new information.<p align="justify"> <br /> The aim of this study is to develop an inter-departemental spatial data system management to produce land use status maps for all institutions at province level. The objectives of this study are to forniulate standard of land use status map relevant to the needs of land use planning at province level and develop a procedure that is, a series of related tasks that make up the chronological sequence to achieve the standard.<p align="justify"> <br /> Based on literature study, it can be concluded that minimum map scale is 1:250.000 derived from Topography map scale 1:250.000 (Jantop TNI AD, 1974) and 1:50.000 (Bakosurtanal, 1973) and its projection system and grid divided according to Topography map. Besides, it used map scale 1:750.000 to show the distribution of activity on West Kalimantan region. Base map contains elements that is derived from topography map and it is drew according to map scale. Meanwhile, theme is drew according to land use regulation for any activities theme.<p align="justify"> <br /> Procedure covers the following processes: mapping, legalization, storage, utilizing, control by users, and updating. Based on analysis of institution capabilities on spatial data management, two procedures should be developed. Procedure 1, for institutions that are capable to process a part or all steps of spatial data }management activities. In this procedure, base map is prepared by Kanwil BPN cooperated with Direktorat Topography and Bakosurtanal, meanwhile thematic map are drew by the relevant institutions. Those maps are legalized by Bappeda Tingkat I on behalf of Governor who is responsible for development implementation in region. Updating, storage, reproduction and distributions carried out by any institution. Procedure 2, for institutions that are not capable in carrying out spatial data management. In this procedure, all steps are similar to procedur 1 and carried out by Kanwil BPN.
