Since launching in March 2019 until June 2019, data shows that 98% of users who did application login are not investing. This problem was identified by Halofina, based on user interviews, there were various kinds of technical problems that had to be fixed. As of June 2019, Halofina was trying to improve its user interface by developing a new prototype of the Halofina application to solve existing problems. This study aims to improve Halofina’s usability. The usability evaluation method used is a combination of usability testing and usability inquiry. The usability dimensions used are effectiveness, efficiency, learnability, and user satisfaction. Usability evaluation techniques used are performance measurement, standardized questionnaires in the form of Questionnaire for User Interface Satisfaction (QUIS), retrospective think-aloud (RTA), and Focus Group Discussion. The study was conducted on 10 participants who were divided into groups of beginners and non-beginners. Recruitment of participants used a combination of convenience sampling and purposive sampling and data collection are done at the Halofina office. The results showed that the prototype of the Halofina application has good effectiveness and good user satisfaction, but there are some issues related to efficiency and problems expressed through retrospective think aloud and focus group discussions. This study has designed 21 proposed improvements of 52 usability problems identified from RTA, FGD, and Error to improve the usability of Halofina applications. text
