Summary: | Juanda Airport is one of the International Airport in Indonesia which has over
capacity based on airport mapping data by PT. Angkasa Pura 1. According to the
passenger growth for the last 10 years that have positive trend implies demand
increasing every year at Juanda Airport. This condition needs to be supported with
the availability of adequate airside facilities. This study aims to determine the
development of optimum scenario in improving the airside facilities performance
at Juanda Airport for demand in the next 10 years.
The analysis begins by evaluating the performance of airside facilities in service
aircraft movements in existing condition and for the next 10 years from the result
of aircraft modulation, based on passenger growth forecasting using the timeseries
method. This airside facilities evaluation is assisted with ArcPORT simulation
software by observing the airside facilities performance from inbound and
outbound taxiing time. Based on the result of the evaluation, 7 development
scenarios are proposed to determine the optimum scenario according to objective
functions about airside facilities performance.
The result showed that the existing airside facilities of Juanda Airport has reached
its saturated capacity and could not facilitate the aircraft movement in the next 10
years. From the 7 proposed development scenarios, the development of Rapid Exit
Taxiway and Parallel Taxiway can optimize aircraft movement in the next 10 years
by improving airside facilities performance, which is indicated by a decrease in
taxiing time and runway occupancy time (ROT) for each type of aircraft. |
