Summary: | PDAM Tirta Darma Ayu Kepandean branch has 3 water treatment plants (WTP) that serve the drinking water needs of the Indramayu district community. The WTP 1 unit has a capacity of 70L/sec, WTP 2 has a capacity of 80 L/sec and WTP 3 has a capacity of 50 L/sec. However, based on observations made in 2019, WTP 2 has an average flowrate of processing reaching 93 L/sec and exceeds the designed discharge capacity. From these observations it was also found that the treated water did not meet the quality standard criteria. There is a solution related to the evaluation of WTP 2, expansion of dimensions from all units and replace the filter media on the filtration tank. To meet the drinking water needs until 2040, it is necessary to increase the capacity, including by increasing the capacity of WTP 2. However, the result evaluation of the improvements shows us it inefficient from the economic and land sector. So it’s planned a new water treatment plant (WTP) with a capacity of 120 L / sec to meet the water supply needs of the Indramayu sub-district community until 2040. The excess flow of WTP Unit 2 will be returned to its capacity (80L / sec) so that the water from the re-processing process meets the drinking water quality standard. The new WTP will have a pre-sedimentation unit with a square-shaped tank, a coagulation unit with a hydraulic jump mixing system and a PAC coagulant, a flocculating baffle channel, a sedimentation unit equipped with a plate settler, a filtration unit with dual media filter and a sludge drying bed for sludge treatment unit. Investment cost to construct this WTP is about Rp 37,3 billion. |
