This earthquake event has caused infrastructures damage, take lives and economic losses. Damage will be exacerbated by the amplification of the area. Disaster mitigation needs to be done to reduce the impact of damage. Seismic hazard analysis is one of the mitigation methods. Sumatra was chosen as a research area because it has quite complete catalog data. In addition, earthquakes with magnitudes above 8 are located in Sumatra, namely the 2004 Aceh earthquake (9.2 Mw) and the 2005 Nias earthquake (8,7 Mw). Study of potential hazards with the seismic hazard function which is plotting between probability and peak ground acceleration (PGA). Estimation model of Triyoso et al. (2020) is applied to calculate the seismic hazard function with subduction zone as source. The model is a combination of the smoothed mean seismicity rate and the pre-seismic subduction surface strain estimated model in subduction zone. While the amplification factor at the BMKG observer station is calculated using the horizontal-vertical spectral ratio (HVSR) method. The results of seismic hazard function for 13 stations in Sumatra shows a higher potential for danger in a city near the coast and the possibility of greater shock in southern Sumatra. Using the amplification factor in each stasion PGA in surface is estimated. text |
