Description
Summary:Through art, multiple stories are told through conventional mediums such as painting, sculpture, and even new media such as animation. However, there are themes and narratives that are better suited through an interactive medium instead of the aforementioned mediums. One of these themes are the daily routine and the monotony of it all. The interactive medium used by the author of this writing to convey this theme is the medium of video games, using its mechanics to put the audience inside the characters they’ll play. The language of video games will be used, such as dialogue, levels, and progression, and subverted in a way that feels unique. Through a modern technology, video games, we can simulate an entirely different person from us, with a different past and experiences, yet one we can empathize with through an interactive experience. This artwork is a video game that will portray a narrative, describing a small world and an anonymous protagonist who lives in it. He will go through his daily routine without the slightest change. Of course, throughout the game, we can rebel a little and break this routine. Through this work, we will get a new perspective on life, as well as how we can change our lives by stepping out of our comfort zone.
