This high-speed pace was a side effect of the three interconnected systems that governs the world now: globalization, capitalism, consumerism, and extractive economy. Amidst the high-speed modern life of today, the author feels that there is one important thing we must not forget, that is to pause. A brief moment of silence to re-evaluate all goals and targets, and also to contemplate the meaning within them. A book has a mountain of potentials. It is a perfect container that represents the traces of human’s process of creating a better world. Without books, the human civilization would not be where it is today. Within books, knowledge, information, history and fictions are stored and it enables these things to travel beyond economical and geographical limits. Through books, the author tries to present a visual stimuli which guides the audience to a manipulated space that enables them to contemplate the meaning of ‘more’. The author designed a stage of process to achieve such stimuli with the expansion of two printmaking princples: reduction and repetition. The author utilized the reduction principle to excavate all contents of a book except one word that create create a patterned repetition. This repetition is related to a linguistic theory of emphasis, in which a letter, word, or sentence is repeated to enhance or underline its importance. Repetition also makes an information stongly stored in the memory and easier to re-access, which is heavily exploited in the illusory truth effect theory. Specifically in the Pop Art era, repetition was utilized as an idiom of the consumerism ethics and mass-products. The combination of these concepts is presented in the form of installation. The final result of the books is mounted on a curved panel that envelops the viewer, and the paper residues of the process will be displayed within a vitrin. The installation aims to give viewer an intimate space and interaction from which a process of meaning contemplation can emerge. text
