Summary: | Discontinuity on rock such as joint is one of many factors that caused instability on
rocks. Decreased of rock strength occurred in line with existence a number of joints
so poor rocks has a large number of joints. Therefore, rock reinforcement such as
grouting can be one of the solutions to deal with discontinuity. This research
conducted on artificial sample Moldano Tara (dental stone type III). It had been
given artificial joints with orientation 60o
from axial with frequency 1 and 2.
Furthermore, grout material with composition 4C:5W had been injected on joint
and cured in 28 days. Triaxial test are done in all samples intact, jointed and grouted
and it’s been analyzed with Mohr-Coulomb and Hoek Brown failure criteria. It is
found that joint has been given negative contribution on cohesion at rock joint
samples with frequency 1 and 2, declining 28,61% and 42,46%, friction angle
around 80,93% dan 90,37%, whereas on UCS declined 29,97% and 34,43%. On the
other hand, grouting had been given positive contribution cohesion, increasing
11,42% and 28,27%, friction angle 360% and 422%, while UCS increased 32,96%
and 40,93% respectively. |
