Description
Summary:Adulterated alcohol abuse has an impact on catalytic cases among its users. According to this case it is necessary to handle by ensuring the presences of methanol, which is the main ingredients of alduterated alkohol. This study aims to model the detection method for subjects who have metanol exposure contained in adulterated alkohol using mice as experimental animal with qualitative measurements on their hair. Verification of pharmacological effect is done by observing analgesic activity using tail flick method. Mice were induced 4 time every seven days, the treatments consisting of: metanol 73 mg/kgBB and adulterated alkohol 73 mg/kgBB. The test results showed that all treatment materials were significantly different pain inhibitory ability (p<0.05) compare to the control group. These results were followed by a qualitative analysis of metanol and adulterated alkohol using Fourier Transform Infrared Spectroscopy (FTIR) which showed no methanol detection in mice hair but detected diethyltoluamide (DEET) and transflutrin.
