This compound is undegradable by microorganism and degradable in alkalin condition to result the reactive compounds. In aquatic environment, lignin has negative impact for living of organism. The objective of this research are determination the LC<sub>50</sub> value of lignin, sublethal toxicity effect of lignin for growing of Cyprinus carpio, and lignin effect to microanatomical structure of the gill and intestine tissue. <p align=\"justify\"> <br /> This research consists of three phase, namely: (1) acute toxicity test of lignin to determine LCso at expossure 24, 48, 72, and 96 hours, (2) sublethal toxicity test of lignin for growing of C. carpio, and (3) microanatomic preparation to tissue of the gill and intestine of C. carpio.<p align=\"justify\"> <br /> The results of probit analysis method has showed that LC50 value at expossure 24, 48, 72 and 96 hours were 87.3, 78.4, 65.3 and 56.1 ppm, respectively. Moreover, the interpolation results showed that LCso value at expossure 24, 48, 72 and 96 hours were 87.8, 78.9, 65.0, 56.5 ppm respectively. Analysis of variance showed that lignin have significant effect to growth of C. carpio at significant level (a) = 0,01. The results of Least Significant Defference Test at a = 0,01 showed significant effect at lignin concentration 12, 22, 32 dan 42 ppm. These concentration makes damage gill and intestinus tissue. Hyperplasia, hypertrophi and lysis of epithelial cell of the gill. Atrophi of villus intestinales, lysis of epithelial cell and lamina propria and atrophy of intestine in lamina propria. The abnormality function of gill and intestine can depress to growth of C. carpio. text
