Summary: | This study aims to determine the optimal addition amount of cajuputi leaves solid waste which pretreated by T. viride or without any pretreatment into food waste that most suitable as Black Soldier Fly Larvae’s (Hermetia illucens) substrate. The ratio between cajuputi leaves solid waste and food waste as a Black Soldier Fly Larvae substrate are 10:90, 20:80 and 30:70. There are two types of cajuputi leaves solid waste in this study. Cajuputi solid waste that obtained from unpretreated fresh leaves distillation and cajuputi solid waste that obtain from pretreated fresh leaves by Trichoderma viride distillation. The parameters that become focus in this study are the bioconversion of BSFL into its biomass, crude fat, crude protein, waste reduction index (WRI) and mass balance of this process. The results of this study indicate that the highest bioconversion into BSFL biomass was obtained from the substrate with 20% addition of cajuputi solid waste that obtain from pretreated fresh leaves by T. viride distillation. The crude fat and crude protein content in BSFL with this variation are 29.77% and 31.58%. This variation also resulted in higher WRI compared to others, which is 4.24%. From the feed given, currently 4.52% is converted into biomass, 36.4% as an energy source and 57.60% becomes residue. |
