DESIGN OF HYDRAULIC FRACTURING HORIZONTAL WELL ON SHALE GAS RESERVOIR
The need for energy, especially natural gas will always increase every year along with the population, industry and technology grow. However, Indonesia's national gas supply has started to deficit since 2018 and it is predicted to continue to decline until 2035. So, to be able to meet the energ...

However, Indonesia's national gas supply has started to deficit since 2018 and it is predicted to continue to decline until 2035. So, to be able to meet the energy needs in the future, there are several ways that can be done, one of them is by exploiting the reservoir shale gas. However, to be able to exploit this reservoir, hydraulic fracturing stimulation is needed. In this study, sensitivity analysis of the fluid and the size of the proppant used for fracturing are carried out. The goal is to compare the geometry of the fracture formed and obtain the combination of treatments that can produce the greatest fold of increase (FOI). After doing research, it was found that the use of viscous slickwater fluid will produce a fracture geometry that is longer when compared to using slickwater fluid, in addition, this fluid is able to distribute proppants with the smallest mesh size (16/20) relatively deeper. By using this combination of fluid and proppant, 10.98 of fold of increase is obtained which is the largest fold of increase compared to other combinations. text |
