Therefore, it is necessary to attempt in reduction of the consumption of the comminution energy by changing the physical charateristic of the ore so to be easily fracture.<p align=\"justify\"> <br /> The microwave energy heating utilization on the ore before comminution is one of the applicable alternative. In this research the influence of the magnitude of the grinding energy of the Cimanggu gold ore, West Java, have been observed before and after the microwave heating treatment.<p align=\"justify\"> <br /> The investigation is result indicates that the microwave treatment can cause physical structural changes on certain minerals. The physical structural changes of rock forming minerals return causes the rock to be come more brittle, so that it can shorten and reduce the grinding time and energy respectively. By microwave energy induces thermal treatment of 5, 15, 30, 60, 120, and 300 second prior to grinding, it can decrease the grinding work index by about 20 to 35%. text |
