INSTITUT TEKNOLOGI BANDUNG https://digilib.itb.ac.id/gdl/view/47395 Machine tools are machines used in the production process to make an item or object with certain geometry specifications and tolerances. Every machine tools are designed with certain precision and stiffness. Changes in the dimensions or volume of work of machine tools will require a new design to meet the criteria, especially in terms of precision and stiffness of the machine. This is certainly an inefficient process considering that making a new design to meet the desired specifications takes a lot of time. One of the solutions to this problem is parametric design concept. The parametric design concept defines the shape of an object by using parameters, so that changes or exploration of the shape of a design object can be done by simply changing one or more parameters. In this Final Project, parametric design process is performed for table components and vertical CNC milling machine saddles with several developments, namely adding stiffness parameters as inputs and adding material variations to the structural components in the form of structural steel. The output obtained from the parametric design process is a table-thickness parametric table in the form of a three-dimensional matrix for various stiffness values using the formulation method and the Kriging-formulation method and accuracy of parametric tables mentioned. Then, parametric design is also performed on the saddle component by adding stiffness as an input with the result in the form of a parametric table of ribbing thickness on the saddle. The parametric model of the two components has also been updated by adding stiffness parameters and component materials. text
