Description
Summary:Along with the dynamics of the global business environment in the era of VUCA (Volatility, Uncertainty, Complicated, and Ambiguity) where many change the way of viewing old business strategies to be upgraded to become a system or business strategy that is tougher, more agile and more efficient in dealing with rhythm predicted that global business in the coming year will still be full of challenges and changes. It cannot be denied since the collapse of world oil prices in 2014, this presents a great challenge for companies in the oil and gas sector. To rise as an answer requires strategic ways for long-term corporate stability. In 2018 the global economy will be marked by uncertainty due to the trade war between the United States and China and the Fed's interest rate hike, which is suspected to be the cause of the slow pace of global economic growth. Warehouse, which is one part of the Supply Chain Management Function in PEP, has a very important role in responding to global business challenges. The warehouse, which is a place for storing materials for a certain period of time, has the role of ensuring its support for the smooth running of operations so that there is no shortage of material and / or material delays when needed by operations. Through an optimal warehousing management system that starts with site selection, administration, documentation, material maintenance, material distribution, information flow and operational integration, is expected to contribute more to the company's profits. To carry out the above analysis, the authors approach using qualitative methods through individual interviews with five experts in the fields of logistics, warehousing, distribution and transportation. The results of the interview study were confirmed with literature studies, data analysis, brainstorming, study results recommendations and timelines for the implementation plan. From the results of the analysis, it was found that the management of warehousing in PT. Pertamina EP with Asset 2 sample area, has the potential to be optimized by determining 1 main warehouse with warehouse branches in its fields. With this addition to increasing financial efficiency, it is expected to further enhance its role as operational support.
