Description
Summary:Oil and gas industry is one of industry sector that has high dynamic business. As a strategy to deal with this situation, high flexibility resources are needed to support the operation sustainability of the company. PT Bravo Energy Indonesia (PT BEI) is a subsidiary of Bravo Corporation, that holds 100 percent-owned and operated interest in the Rocka PSC, totally changed its business strategy and plan for the upcoming years entering the transition period to the end of concession of Rocka PSC. Drilling & Completions (D&C) team, as a core team in PT BEI that execute the well jobs, need to improve flexibility of workover and well services rigs to be operated across operating area of PT BEI dealing with very dynamic business plan in 2020 – 2021. Fishbone diagram and Focus Group Discussion (FGD) are utilized to find the root causes why current rigs have less flexibility. Well Control equipment associated with rig contract Scope of Work (SOW) is identified as the potential cause. As research methodology to find the solution, well data mapping is conducted while the minimum Well Control equipment requirement is determined refer to the industry standards and company’s standards. Afterwards, the selection criteria are developed to identify alternatives of the Well Control equipment. The criteria in this research are operational flexibility, contract flexibility, installation/ uninstallation process (safety and cycle time), and ability to execute high wellhead wells. The alternatives are defined by considering the operational and contract concerns, also the Voice of Customer (VOC) from the stakeholders. This research uses Analytic Hierarchy Process (AHP) as a structured method to analyze the alternatives. The best alternative that selected as fit for purpose Well Control equipment for workover and well service rigs in PT BEI is BOP Class II A1-R1 (Annular + Blind-Shear ram). A new rig contract SOW is developed including the selected alternative to improve rig flexibility in executing well jobs across operating area of PT BEI. The implementation is predicted will also bring additional benefit which are additional cost avoidance for PT BEI due to Well Control equipment revision and investment cost saving of Well Control equipment for rig contractors.
