Summary: | The most common definition of Sustainable Development is the development that meets the needs of the present without compromising the ability of future generation to meet their own needs. The Sustainable Development concept emerge by the raising awareness of the importance in keeping the balance between the dimension of social, economic and environment. These three dimensions of sustainable development had to be in balanced, interlinked and integrated. In the other hand, Indonesia has huge renewable energy potential of hydro, which can be utilized to open the access to electricity in the rural areas. Beside of the familiarity of the technology, most of the component are also locally available. This has made many initiatives come from government budget or other grant financing facilities are used to develop a Micro Hydro Power Plant (MHPP). It is projected that by 2025 the MHPP development will reach up to 3GW. The ambitious target lead to the question on what are the importance of Sustainable Development criteria and sub-criteria that need to be prioritized in MHPP project. By using the Analytical Hierarchy Process (AHP), the research resulted that criteria with highest weights is economy, followed by social in second place, and in the third place is environment. While in the sub-criteria level, the most important sub-criterion with respect to the objective is the development sub-criterion. The second most important is the ecosystem integrity sub-criterion, and the third most important is productivity sub-criterion. |
