<b>Abstract :</b><p align=\"justify\">The paradigm of urban-rural disparities, inequity of industrial and agricultural region caused by inharmonic of economics development in between those region, particularly in the developing countries is Asia. In the city, the formal sector characterized by modem industry, big business corporation, high wages and opulent living coexists and is contrasted with the squalor and poverty informal sector. In the other hand, the rural areas, the ever increasing population pressure on land and natural resources, the rise of rural elites and aggravation of landlessness and rural poverty.<br /> <p align=\"justify\">In response to this situation, agricultural development strategy through farm mechanization could be done. Introduction and application of farm mechanization in certain region will give some positive result to the development of the region. Farm mechanization will create and initiate agro industry and agribusiness activities in rural area. These fact, the farm mechanization will reduce urban-rural disparities and inequity. In developing country such in Indonesia (especially in Java) a selective application of farm mechanization are requiring to avoid economic, social and culture problems. Based on those background, this study propose the formulation and application of identification model for regional suitability of farm mechanization. The study objectives are to identify the influence regional factor for farm mechanization selection in certain region, to formulate all theses factors in the model of regional suitability for farm mechanization and to a plicate and evaluate the model in different scale region.<br /> <p align=\"justify\">The study result have been identified the influence factor for farm mechanization selection in certain region are : physio-topography, farm land area, demographic condition, farm institution, information media, supporting means, and community social dynamic. Formulation for farm mechanization regional suitability identified based on the multi-criteria decision making procedure. The classification method of farm mechanization regional suitability adopted the method of land suitability classification system.<br /> <p align=\"justify\">The model application in different region scale showed very simple application, most of secondary data used available, relatively accurate for reconnaissance analyses, non significant result for different scale application. The evaluation result showed, the model could be identified the problem of farm mechanization application directly and capable to decide any policy to cope the problems. The model formulation did combined important influence factor of farm mechanization selection such as geography factors, technology adoption level, social, demographic, farm institution and culture factor for identifying suitability of farm mechanization in certain region. The advantages of the model are subjective results and properly for reconnaissance purpose only.
