The future of information technology will involve of the use the advance multimedia technology and superhighway communication network. Based on multimedia technology and global network, an information service could be delivered more naturally into multimedia information form, easily organized and accessed on any connected computer. <br />
<p align=\"justify\">In this thesis, it has developed a multimedia city software application in a local network. The software can provide a city multimedia information service to any user and accessible via internet browser at URL: http://chandradimukha.ee.itb.ac.id/its/mmcity/. Information services contain a city map, main roads, places, buildings, and traffic information of Yogyakarta. The traffic information, such as degree of traffic jam, accident, weather is generated based on random Poisson distribution and broadcasted by server computer. This software is called MMCITY. <br />
<p align=\"justify\">The analysis and the design of MMCITY software are constructed by Object Modeling Technique OMT. Java programming language from \"Symantec Visual Cafe for Java\", and internet development tool \"Microsoft FrontPage 98\" is used to implement the object model design into computer program. Based on testing and result analysis of MMCITY software, it can be concluded that the software has fulfilled of the requirement specification and design system. <br />
<p align=\"justify\">This MMCITY software can still be improved in the future. For instance, by adding interfacing protocol facility to integrate with other traffic detection systems so that this MMCITY software can provide the real-world traffic information to users. <br />
