Description
Summary:Enhanced Oil Recovery (EOR) is a method to extract oil with long hydrocarbon structure by flooding its reservoir with a mixture of oil and other substance. Nanocellulose is one of the substances that has a potential as an EOR agent. Examination of the potential has done by doing a molecular dynamics simulation to water and oil mixture system. Results from those simulations show there are increased viscosity in the system after nanocellulose addition from 0,651x10-3 kg/m.s to 0,828x10-3 kg/m.s after adding one cellulose molecule. Simulations also show that nanocellulose does not have an emulsification effect. It shows by its combine density profile that shows nanocellulose is inside water phase and an increase interfacial tension of the system when added 1% of NaCl.
