Description
Summary:Being a musician is not easy. Besides having to be able to compete in the market, it is crucial to have work that is liked by many people. Genre is one thing that can influence the listener's interest. It will see the dynamics of Indonesian people's interest in 5 music genres: dangdut, pop, hip-hop, R&B, and EDM and then the American population towards five music genres: rock, dangdut, pop, hip-hop, R&B, and EDM. Later, it will see what genres are most developed in Indonesia and America so that musicians and music producers get a picture of the market. Google Trend data have to use since 2008 to analyze this situation. The data accumulation will explain three population growth models chosen to model the genre interest data in Indonesia: logistic model, Gompertz model, and an exponential model, assuming there is no growth in Google users. Later these three models will be modified by eliminating these assumptions. Then, we will find the best parameter that gives the smallest error value. As a result, dangdut is the most popular genre of the Indonesian population, and hip-hop is the most developed genre since 2008. For America, rock and hip-hop are the most developed genres compared to the others.
