PENSION FUNDS FOR CIVIL SERVANT AS TEACHING STAFS IN A UNIVERSITY XYZ USING THE ACCRUED BENEFIT COST METHOD

The pension program in Indonesia has become the concern of various parties. The calculation of the amount of pension benefit by taking into account the rank and the last class is one of the important calculations in the pension fund so that there is a balance between the benefits received by participants and the contributions paid. In this study, the amount of pension benefits will be calculated using the Accrued Benefit Cost method based on the position and the last category, the level of early retirement and death, as well as the amount of periodic salary increases. Estimated position and the final group is determined by a prediction model for promotion. After that, a prediction of pension funds that the government must provide for the next 20 years is made. The model is applied to the teaching staff data of a faculty in university XYZ. The simulation results show that the amount of retirement benefits is highly dependent on the position and the final group of participants, the higher the position and final group when going to retirement, the greater the pension benefits to be received. In addition, fluctuating interest rates also affect the amount of pension benefits, especially in predicting pension funds in the next 20 years.
