Description
Summary:Port channel well functioned if it has specific depth. As time flies, port channel become shallower because ocean wave and weather. Hence, scheduled dredging is needed to make port channel stay well functioned. But, random ocean wave and weather makes silting rate also random. Thus, depth inspection needed to determine if dredging is needed or not. Based on that, we will determine how to calculate depth near shore using wave surface profiles. Furthermore, we will determine condition for the calculation to be accurate (relative error under 5 percent). This thesis will explain how to calculate depth near shore using wave surface profiles both in one dimensional and two dimensional cases. Furthermore, the depth calculation result for both one dimensional and two dimensional cases will be served The method used in this research are literature study and simulation with software. The result of this thesis is the method for calculating depth using wave surface profiles both in one dimensional and two dimensional cases along with the calculation depth result from simulation. Furthermore, the condition for the calculation to be accurate (relative error under 5 percent) in one dimensional cases also acquired.
