Description
Summary:Indonesia is located between three large plates: Australia, Eurasia, and the Pacific. If there is friction between these plates, it can inflict an earthquake with a very large magnitude. Earthquake can cause loss of life and enormous financial damage due to damage to property and infrastructure. Insurance for earthquake disasters is a way to reduce financial losses from damage to property and infrastructure. Catastrophe Model is a probabilistic modeling of catastrophe and is needed in natural disaster insurance business, including the earthquake insurance business. In this Final Project, we discuss the moment magnitude modeling of mainshocks earthquake that occurred on the Java and Sunda Strait megathrust, especially in segments M7 through M12, according to the Indonesia Hazard Map 2017. Moment magnitude of the mainshocks earthquake in the six megathrusts following Generalized Pareto Distribution (GPD) with the corresponding parameters. In this Final Project, an example is also given to determine the distribution of peak ground acceleration (PGA) in the Yogyakarta’s government office using an attenuation equation. Using the GPD obtained in segments M7 through M12, for an average recurrence interval of 200, 250, 450, and 500 years, the value of Poisonnian Probability of Exceedance, ???????????????????????????? ???? 0.037????, ???????? can be determined for period ???? ???? 1,2,3,4,5,6,7,50 years on the Yogyakarta’s government office. The hazard curve for a period ???? and an average recursion interval value can be determined from the Poissonian Probability of Exceedance obtained.
