This zone is called Megathrust Mentawai. The earthquake and tsunami threat in Padang is classified as high with an estimated tsunami height of 9 meters and an estimated arrival time of 35 minutes. Earthquake and tsunami mitigation infrastructure has been built to reduce the potential disaster risk that will be faced. This research will look at the extent of the problems that exist in the existence of such infrastructure and how the governance of disaster management in the city of Padang is specifically related to earthquake and tsunami mitigation infrastructure. The formulation of governance aspects reviewed is related to the role of researchers and local knowledge, planning, institutions, society and community organization participation as well as monitoring and evaluation. The method used is to observe in the existing infrastructure and interview with relevant institutions or stakeholders and observe secondary data. This research has identified several problems from five types of infrastructure observed. From the results of the study it was found that there are still problems in the Padang earthquake and tsunami disaster mitigation infrastructure, especially maintenance problems and the non-functioning of the facilities to the maximum due to abandoned conditions. From the results of research on the management of earthquake and tsunami disasters, it can be seen that normatively the management of the disaster in Padang City is already good with the creation of disaster risk reduction instruments that are fulfilled, efforts to engage stakeholders, as well as formality efforts in the form of prevention and preparedness events that are done already done but the reality has not been effective. text
