Observations show that there are regions in the disk which might be a strong evidence as the birthplace for plan- ets. These results are of paramount importance since from then on numerical simulations can be performed further to replicate these images. Therefore, detailed properties of protoplanetary disk can be studied more thoroughly. In this work, we analyze morphologies of HL Tau's and PDS 70's proto- planetary disk system by comparing ALMA's observational images with nu- merical simulation using FARGO3D code. Observational data are obtained from ALMA's data archive and processed using CASA while numerical simu- lation is conducted using FARGO3D. It is shown that numerical simulations are able to reproduce some features in protoplanetary disk, such as formation of single/multi-ring gap, evolution of circumplanetary disk, and the genera- tion of spiral arms. Comparison with observations shows that PDS 70's disk is shaped by inner disk, gap, circumplanetary disk, and outer disk, while HL Tau's disk is generated by multi-ring gap only. The case of PDS 70's disk is successfully reproduced while that of HL Tau's disk still needs more rene- ment. It seems that the gas disk failed to reproduce observational images, but multi-species material disk managed to create multi-ring gap. text |

In 2014, ALMA had achieved an observational breakthrough. For the rst
time, a protoplanetary disk could be imaged with high delity that enables
us to see unprecedented details of the disk. Observations show that there are
regions in the disk which might be a strong evidence as the birthplace for plan-
ets. These results are of paramount importance since from then on numerical
simulations can be performed further to replicate these images. Therefore,
detailed properties of protoplanetary disk can be studied more thoroughly.
In this work, we analyze morphologies of HL Tau's and PDS 70's proto-
planetary disk system by comparing ALMA's observational images with nu-
merical simulation using FARGO3D code. Observational data are obtained
from ALMA's data archive and processed using CASA while numerical simu-
lation is conducted using FARGO3D. It is shown that numerical simulations
are able to reproduce some features in protoplanetary disk, such as formation
of single/multi-ring gap, evolution of circumplanetary disk, and the genera-
tion of spiral arms. Comparison with observations shows that PDS 70's disk
is shaped by inner disk, gap, circumplanetary disk, and outer disk, while HL
Tau's disk is generated by multi-ring gap only. The case of PDS 70's disk is
successfully reproduced while that of HL Tau's disk still needs more rene-
ment. It seems that the gas disk failed to reproduce observational images, but
multi-species material disk managed to create multi-ring gap. |
