Description
Summary:Indonesia as an archipelago country has challenges in achieving development that is equal to its entire region. The development of abandoned and isolated areas is an important agenda in supporting equitable development. The Thousand Islands District as the administration of the region which was built from a group of small islands is one of the areas that have discrepancy in development compared to other regions in the DKI Jakarta province. Infrastructure and supporting transportation networks are one of the solutions in developing the Thousand Islands District. For transportation networks a good level of connectivity is needed for the allocated and connected centers of activity. Connectivity shows the connection one component of activities with other components of activities which are supported by good transportation facilities and infrastructure. Good connectivity is expected to open up areas that can be accessed with economic activity. The Indonesian archipelago can be supported through local island connectivity, inter-island connectivity, and global connectivity. So it is important to understand transportation connectivity in the Thousand Islands District so that it can support development in the region. The study aims to identify the connectivity of the sea transport network in the Thousand Islands District. Starting from describing service activities and obstacles encountered in carrying out maritime transportation activities in the Thousand Islands District, analyzing the transportation network index in the maritime transport network and the connectivity index owned by the maritime transportation network in the Thousand Islands District. The data analysis method uses a descriptive analysis method. The data processed in the form of primary data regarding sea transportation services and secondary data related to the maritime transportation node and network in the Thousand Islands District. Transportation network index and connectivity index analysis is performed using the graph theory approach. The results of the connectivity analysis show that the current transportation routes have not yet optimally connected the nodes of activity in the sea transport network while the comparison results with the addition of several routes show that an increase in the number of routes in each node has increased. Maritime transportation services in Thousand Island District involve 3 parties in the administration of transportation, namely the government, the private sector, and the community. Details of problems related to the implementation of maritime transportation in the Thousand Islands Regency are grouped into several aspects, namely, from the route and the quality of services that are not optimal, transportation service tariffs that are considered still not suitable, and the implementation of government programs that are not optimal.
