The utilization of electrical energy has increased in various sectors every year. The shortage of fossil energy resources had lead humans to seek opportunities for any other guaranteed availability of energy resources. One such energy resource is solar energy. Indonesia as located on the equator has a great potential in developing systems to empowering solar energy, by constructing the Solar Power Plant (SPP). For this thesis, an integrated Solar Power Plant (SPP) to the electrical network will be designed at the Center for Advanced Sciences (CAS) Building in ITB. This is part of the smart microgrid system installation project. The designed SPP system is divided into two main parts, the 40 kWp SPP system without batteries and 10 kWp SPP system with batteries. The design of those two systems will be functioned as peak load shaving which assessed by the parameters of Performance Ratio (PR), Renewable Fraction (RF), and Cost of Energy (COE) using PVsyst and Homer Pro software. From the simulation results, the 40 kWp SPP system with the best design obtained a PR value of 0.833, RF value of 18.73% and COE value of Rp 1,251.85/kWh where the PR and COE values have met the business target. While 10 kWp SPP system obtained a PR value of 0.77, RF of 44.38% to 52.19% in the range of Depth of Discharge (DoD) 20% - 80%, and COE of Rp 2,103/kWh to Rp 6,315/kWh in the range of DoD 20% - 80% where the RF value has met the business target. text
