This reports gives explanation on characteristic and potential study on electrical energy produced form wind turbine NACA 0015 design in Garut Regency, West Java, Indonesia. There gives many geometries of a turbine blade that will affect power generation, including horizontal axis wind turbine (HAWT) blade. Blade’s geometries, wind characteristics, and comparation analysis will be varied as the parameters on this research. The variations conclude: blade rotation, blade scaling, and blade twisting. Computational fluid dynamics (CFD) simulation using ANSYS Fluent Tool of the objects studied will be computed and arranged in visualized statistic results. The variations and parameterizations done in the simulations shows increasing results of torque produced at the blade as the increasing amount of exposure area from the blade towards wind direction. Then, the comparative results also shows a considerable wind energy potential in Garut Regency, West Java, Indonesia. text |
