But currently, not everywhere has adequate communication infrastructure to support it, mainly on remote region. Because of that, satellite communication system is an important asset that can be utilized to cover the telecommunication infrastructure on remote region in Indonesia. By traveling in remote region using a transportation vehicle, it’s relatively easy to lose signal coverage from cellular communication system. Thus providing the need of a Mobile VSAT with autonomous tracking capability that can be used to provide two-way satellite communication. From technical perspective, this Mobile VSAT system have multiple components to do its job. One of which is an antena to receive signal from the satellite. Design approach used in this antenna is to keep it cheap, portable, and aerodynamic to not hinder the vehicle during its travel. To realize this, microstrip antenna is used with array configuration and truncated edge square patch. Designed to work for cellular broadband in Ku-Band with capability to keep track of satellite relative position to retain connectivity. The scope of work will be focused to get adequate gain value with circular polarization while also keeping the size compact. text |
