Description
Summary:The hustles of the people cause shifting in so many aspects, water is included. The purpose of this research is to determine water quality status based on chlorophyll-a (hereinafter referred to as chl-a) concentration which depicts algae bloom, that may lead to eutrophication. Three study area is located in Seribu Islands, Indonesia: Jakarta Bay, Panggang Island, and Harapan Island. Those locations are chosen for representing activities in port, packed neighborhood, and tourisms respectively. Satellite systems used are Moderate Resolution Imaging Spectroradiometer (MODIS) Terra, MODIS Aqua, Landsat 8 Surface Reflectance Tier 1, and Sentinel 2 Level 1C. The methods used are O'Reilly band ratio OCx for MODIS Terra, MODIS Aqua, and Landsat 8, while Sentinel 2 used Gitelson, A.A. Blue–Green Two-Band Ratio Model. After chl-a assessment, the graphs are created based on its location, the trendline of average throughout the year presents a slight increase in Harapan and Panggang Islands, while in Jakarta bay shows otherwise. Several maps are displayed to serve better visualization from each satellite system. Then, satellite systems will be compared using correlation matrices. Some satellite systems don’t have strong correlation with the others in several study areas. It is found that suitable satellite systems for Jakarta Bay are Landsat 8 and Sentinel 2, Harapan Island are Sentinel 2, MODIS Aqua, and MODIS Terra, and Panggang Island are MODIS Terra, and Panggang Island are MODIS Aqua and MODIS Terra.
