This tsunami disaster can cause paralysis in several aspects of the coast in the Pelabuhanratu Sub-district. In this study, the tsunami was generated by the movement of megathrust tectonic plates. In the southern region of Java Island or more precisely Pelabuhanratu Sub-district, there is an active tectonic zone that can cause an underwater earthquake with a potential strength reaching 8.7 Mw. An underwater earthquake with a power of this magnitude can lead to a large tsunami potential, which will greatly impact community activities in the coastal area. This study was conducted to analyze the impact of a potential tsunami that can occur in community activities in the region. To achieve this, it is necessary to do tsunami propagation modeling using numerical methods with COMCOT v1.7 software, the modeling will be carried out on two scenarios which are then visualized using Matlab. Then the results of the inundation visualization will be overlaid with land cover data and building data in Pelabuhanratu District. The results of this study indicate the height of the tsunami inundation in the first scenario modeling is much higher than the second scenario, it reaches more than 30 m. Whereas the second scenario reaches more than 4 m. The potential of this tsunami caused several losses to the surrounding residents, a residential area of 917.51 ha, and 17.709 buildings are affected by the Sunda Strait tsunami potential. As well as a residential area of 260.54 ha and 2.779 buildings are affected by the West-Central Java tsunami potential. text
