INSTITUT TEKNOLOGI BANDUNG https://digilib.itb.ac.id/gdl/view/48243 Over the past 5 years, Indonesia has been undergone a surge in the number of startups accompanying the growth of internet users. The emergence of these startups will be a vigorous sign to trigger domestic economic growth and challenging global economic competition. The growth of startups is expected to increase rapidly just around the corner, however, there are immense obstacles that startups need assistance to sprout and survive in an early stage. Startups are fiercely vulnerable to the risk of failure due to a lack of adequate strategic capital, economic capital, cultural capital, and social capital. The presence of business incubators to support startups through providing infrastructure services, business support services, and access to network services. This study uses mixed-method research, which is a third alternative research method that combines quantitative and qualitative approaches. The respondents are used in this study involving 66 tenants of startups derived from 4 university incubators, 3 government incubators, and 2 private incubators. Subsequently, the data is analyzed using Structural equation modelling (SEM) Smart PLS 3.1.9. The author utilizes a hierarchical latent variable reflective-formative model for defining and operationalizing multidimensional constructs to reduces the complexity of the model. The results of this study indicate a positive correlation between infrastructure services, business support services and network access services to the perceived added value but do not have a significant impact on the successful development of tenant businesses. Access to network services is considered to have a prominent impact on perceived value-added and increase tenant success, while those considered to contribute the least to support tenant business growth are business support services. text |

Over the past 5 years, Indonesia has been undergone a surge in the number of
startups accompanying the growth of internet users. The emergence of these
startups will be a vigorous sign to trigger domestic economic growth and
challenging global economic competition. The growth of startups is expected to
increase rapidly just around the corner, however, there are immense obstacles that
startups need assistance to sprout and survive in an early stage. Startups are fiercely
vulnerable to the risk of failure due to a lack of adequate strategic capital, economic
capital, cultural capital, and social capital. The presence of business incubators to
support startups through providing infrastructure services, business support
services, and access to network services.
This study uses mixed-method research, which is a third alternative research
method that combines quantitative and qualitative approaches. The respondents are
used in this study involving 66 tenants of startups derived from 4 university
incubators, 3 government incubators, and 2 private incubators. Subsequently, the
data is analyzed using Structural equation modelling (SEM) Smart PLS 3.1.9. The
author utilizes a hierarchical latent variable reflective-formative model for defining
and operationalizing multidimensional constructs to reduces the complexity of the
model.
The results of this study indicate a positive correlation between infrastructure
services, business support services and network access services to the perceived
added value but do not have a significant impact on the successful development of
tenant businesses. Access to network services is considered to have a prominent
impact on perceived value-added and increase tenant success, while those
considered to contribute the least to support tenant business growth are business
support services. |
