The rapid urbanization will have an impact on increasing population densities and built-up area that affect the reduced availability of land. Along with the rapid urbanization that increased population density, this also contributes to the occurrence of the Urban Heat Island (UHI) phenomenon. Urban Heat Island (UHI) has become an urgency for planners, urban designers, and architects to identify this phenomenon at the microscale or known as Urban Microclimate. The existence of vegetation is one of the main factors in influencing the conditions of the microclimate. The lack of land availability is the obstacle from the vegetation existence. Urban parks become a strategy in the supply of vegetation that used to overcome the lack of land availability in urban areas and believed to be able to provide a cooling effect on the surrounding area so that it has implications for the thermal comfort of park visitors. The thermal comfort itself is the impact that comes from the UHI phenomenon. The city of Bandung, which has reviewed the development of city parks into thematic parks, has 30 thematic parks centered at SWK Cibeunying. However, the current condition is decreasing in quality. This situation indicates any implications within any comfort conditions, wherein thermal comfort is the focus of the whole research. Hence, it is urgent to identify at the thematic park visitor feedback in the context of thermal comfort. In this research, feedback is part of the urban communication system in communicative planning. Through the development of Technology, Information, and Communication, the communication channel used in processing information shifts to the form of social media as the newest communication channel where the social media have chosen in this study is social media Twitter. Therefore, this study aims to analyze the perception of the thermal comfort of thematic park visitors in the city of Bandung through social media Twitter. The method used in this research is a descriptive method with a qualitative approach. Based on the analysis, the perception of the thermal comfort of park visitors is influenced by the internal physical condition of the park, especially with the presence of canopy in the form of vegetation or non-vegetation. Other result shows that the warming-effect given by the body of water at night can stabilize the internal temperature of the park so that it influences to support thermal comfort. text |
