Description
Summary:Indonesia and Japan are countries that have experienced frequent earthquake natural disasters. Nevertheless, both countries have different seismic analysis. In terms of material, the use of steel material in Japan is more developed than in Indonesia. The steel building design method for both countries are also different. The purpose of this thesis is to evaluate Indonesian steel building design with Japanese regulations. The building that is being evaluated is a simple low-rise building (20.5 m) with a special moment bearing steel frame structure system. Analysis was conducted with 2017 ETABS software. For Indonesian building, the regulations that being use are SNI 1726-2019 regarding the Procedures for Planning Earthquake Resistant Buildings, SNI 1729-2015 concerning Specifications for Structural Steel Buildings, and SNI 7860-2015 regarding Seismic Provisions for Structural Steel Buildings. The building evaluation uses Japanese regulation: Building Standard Law (BSL) Enforcement Order 1998 about design of earthquake resistance buildings and AIJ 2017 on Design Standard for Steel Structures: Based on Allowable Stress Concepts (2005 Edition). The analysis shows that there are differences in results for low-rise steel building with special moment frames between Indonesian regulations and Japanese regulations, especially in story drifts and bending moment capacity calculation.
