INSTITUT TEKNOLOGI BANDUNG https://digilib.itb.ac.id/gdl/view/48348 In this Final Project, a representation of the software development method for startup with a distributed team situation is proposed in the Essence standard. Many small startups with a distributed team situation still use existing software engineering methods, not necessarily according to their needs. In fact, there are several methods that have been implemented by several startups to better suit their needs and conditions. The Essence standard is used to be able to describe the essence of the elements in software development and help the team to understand what is missing or needs to be addressed. There are 4 four main stages that are used to solve problems in this Final Project. First, an initial analysis is carried out in the form of an analysis of startup characteristics, distributed development characteristics, and data collection mechanisms. Second, the formulation of the application of software engineering methods was carried out in a number of startups by conducting interviews and method representations. Third, the development of the proposed method is carried out. Finally, evaluating the proposed method using the argumentation approach. All stages use Essence (Object Management Group, 2018) as a guideline for describing elements. At the end of the Final Project, a proposed software engineering method for startups with a distributed team situation was proposed in the Essence standard. Each element of the associated essence and characteristics of the software engineering method at startup with a distributed team situation have been fulfilled. An interrelation diagram between elements has also been made to provide a holistic picture of the proposed method. For evaluation, an evidence map has been shown that shows the importance of each element of the proposed method. Evidence was obtained through interviews and experience of involvement with three software development project teams. text |
