Description
Summary:Indonesia is in the second position as the largest contributor of plastic waste in the world. The accumulation of plastic waste is sourced from various sectors, for example commercial areas, markets, and households as the largest contributor to waste. Most household waste originates from urban areas due to consumptive patterns and high population density. The problem of household waste itself cannot be separated from the role of housewives in involvement in maintaining the cleanliness of the household environment. Most housewives spend most of their time supervising activities in the family, especially in handling the waste produced. How housewives maintain household hygiene is influenced by education. Education can change the perspective of a woman in managing her residential environment from domestic waste. From this statement, the role of women in the development of environmental health is crucial given their future potential as housewives. Having so far been less involved in environmental management actions, especially how to manage waste and prevent pollution from the surrounding environment, women as users of household consumption materials need knowledge about the dangers of the materials they consume, their families and the environment. The approach to women in urban areas has a different way, given the busy activities of young women in urban areas who are educated have a tendency to occupy themselves with work, direct counseling from the government is arguably quite difficult to do. Therefore this approach to young adult women must be accessible through media close to them, such as through a book that they can get at a bookstore. As young adults are encouraged to master their developmental tasks, an activity book as a guide is expected to trigger the social cognition of young adult women in fulfilling their role as pioneers of ideal household waste management. Guidance for managing waste is expected to form a positive lifestyle through the activity book. With this in mind, the writer takes the title‚‘Household Waste Management Activity Books for Young Adult Women'.
