Summary:The impact of Instagram as social media to city planning has continuously been studied. Researchers tried to see a pattern formed by the data they collected from either the Instagram geotagging/like/follow feature or user experience from using Instagram. Among this research, it seemed that how to filter data from an image posted by Instagram users are understudied. The Sense of Place as an analytical concept is an indispensable tool when considering city planning activity. By using the concept of sense of place as an analytical tool to filter data from digital images posted on Instagram, this paper attempt to be able to aid planners in their effort to plan the city better.
