Ecological knowledge in cultivation contributed highly to environmental conservation, biodiversity, production sustainilibity and culture conservation. This ecological knowledge emerged in the pattern of cultivation, crop choise and cultivating periode (rotation). Environmental conservation was indicated by low usage of non bio resources (only fertilizer for rice field dan shifting cultivation 10 - 15 kg/HH/Years) ; the use of biopesticide (Lantana trifolia, Coleus scutellariodes, Toona sureni, Amomum dealbatum, Eryngium futidum and Anchasma walang), policulture, and rotation in managing of pest. High biodiversity, showed by the number of species found, i.e. there are 108 crop species used which consisted of 36 species of fruits, 42 species of medicine plant, 25 species of wood and 24 species of cash crop ; 66 varieties of local rice fields consisted of 6 variety of non hybrid rice such as : raja denok, srikuning, gajah bairah, nemol, cere, srimahi and hanggasa and 60 variety of hybrid padi such as cere layung, cere gelas, cere markoti and pelita ; 11 variety of glutinous rice which only 2 of them are non hybrid (i.e. ketan hideung geulis and hideung rante) ; 19 variety of cultivating rice which consist of 15 hybrid varieties (for example badigol, kijang, bandung and bangban) and 4 non hybrid variety (for examples beureum batu, beureum karang, beureum geulis dan beureum seungkeu) ; 11 variety of cultivating glutinous rice (9 hybrid for hybrid rice i.e. alean, beureum, balitung, bogor and cikur and 2 non hybrid variety i.e. hideung huis and hideung rante) ; 15 varieties of cassava (for examples manalungan, hideung, karihkil and jagreg), and 30 banana varieties for examples raja sere, bangkawulu, raja bulu, ambon, bogo, muli dan omas. Cultivating periode supported product sustainilibity by changing rice field systems (in October - April) to annual crop systems (in August - September) by planting legume to increase land fertility and gain cash crop. Continued of culture and ethnic i.e. 10 traditional rule (tabu) in agriculture system applying by cultivation pattern management, crop choise and cultivating period. The consequences of these activities -lead to yield which only met daily need. All agriculture activities are part of Kasepuhan cultures. text
