Summary:In 2011, World Tourism Organization (WTO) predicts that international tourists in 2020 estimated to reach 1,602 billion with USD 2 trillion as total income. In 2018, the tourism sector contributes 4% of Indonesian economy. Around 50% local government revenue of West Bandung Regency are generated from the tourism sector. Proper tourism give advantages to increase community profits, therefore community based tourism (CBT) made to increase benefits to the people. In Indonesia, CBT applied in agrotourism area. Cibodas Village is one of agrotourism area that has been managed independently by the people. Therefore, the goal of this study is to identify the application of CBT development principles and CBT development measures in the agrotourism area in Cibodas Village, Lembang, West Bandung in order to improve people welfare through economic principles. Using reference of Basic Principles of CBT from UNEP and WTO (2005). CBT Development Step by Hamzah and Khalifah (2009). Also, Indicator of Economic Principles by Hatton (1999), Suansri (2003), and Nederland Development Organization (2012). The principle of CBT in Cibodas Village is in accordance with the basic principles according to UNEP and WTO (2005). Some steps of CBT development in Cibodas Village have been carried out and categorized as starting and developing the CBT. The economic conditions of tourism in Cibodas Village are in accordance with economic principles, due to the fulfillment of development funds, jobs creation, and impactful local community income.
