SEISMIC INVERSION AND MULTIATTRIBUTES FOR CO2 SEQUESTRATION LOCATION IN GUNDIH FIELD

Oil and gas production fields releasing CO2 emissions from their production activities into a sustainable atmosphere will contribute to global warming and climate change. Gundih Field produces gas which produces 800 tons of CO2 emissions per day. The Carbon Capture, Utilization and Storage (CCUS)...

Gundih Field produces gas which produces 800 tons of CO2 emissions per day. The Carbon Capture, Utilization and Storage (CCUS) pilot project at Gundih Field aims to inject the CO2 into the formation below. The Kujung Formation is generally composed of carbonate rocks. From the results of previous studies, there is a Turbidite Calcite rock formation around the top of carbonate-buildups at the Kujung Formation. With the idea of turbidite calcite as a 'buffer' in the event of failure / leakage during or after injection in the Kujung Formation, this research can be carried out on finding the optimal CO2 injection site. Analysis of physical parameters that characterize carbonates at the study site was carried out in order to obtain the best study for subsequent use. Seismic Inversion methods can map lithology distribution based on acoustic impedance. Multi-attribute derived from seismic is used as a method to find the distribution of porosity with input data from previous inversion results. This research is expected to be able to map the distribution of acoustic impedance, density, and porosity as a reference for determining the location of CO2 injection that will be determined after the implementation of Time Depth Conversion in research data. text
