Description
Summary:The Cipunegara watershed service area which is located on Subang, Sumedang, and Indramayu Regencies is experiencing the increasing of population growth, residential facilities, and new comers nowadays. So, the demand of water needs is also going up. In the other hand, the water supply is on the wane instead. Therefore, a study on potential water sources is required to determine what kind of solution should be had in order to fulfill the water supply needs and the potential water resources development in the research area. The objective of this study is to conduct simulation of water allocation by using decision making support system called as WEAP (Water Evaluation And Planning) on Cipunegara river basin area. On the data analysis section, four simulation scenarios of water balance were created based on various suggestions in order to develop the potential of water resources in research area. From the four scenarios were conducted, a recommendation was emerged to develop 11000 ha new irrigation area. There are Wanakaya Reservoir to support Cipancuh Irrigation which has volume 6500 ha, Sadawarna Reservoir which has volume 44.6 million m3, Cipunagara Reservoir which has volume 366.22 m3, and the supletion line from Sadawarna Reservoir to the Cipancuh Reservoir. By the water fulfillment planning, it needs an allocation quality research to find out how feasible Cipunegara River and Sadawarna Dam are technically to fulfill water needs as previously planned. Given the strategic location of West Java Province and the number of industries located there, the demand of water services will continue to increase over time
