Description
Summary:Keraton Surakarta Hadiningrat as the main icon of cultural tourism from Surakarta City showed a decrease in tourists, indicating a dissatisfaction in the visiting experience felt by tourists. Therefore, a study was conducted on the development of Keraton Surakarta Hadiningrat tourism area based on tourists’ point of view, such as the distance traveled by tourists from the origin to the destination point (travel distance) as well as perceptions and preferences on the tourism’ attractions, amenities, and accessibilities. The end of the section is completed by an analysis of the internal accessibility level of the city that will be usable as an input for Surakarta City Government. The distance decay theory states that there is a relationship between distance and traveling behavior. Spearman rank correlation test shows a correlation between distance traveled and the level of satisfaction of tourists in Keraton Surakarta Hadiningrat; where the farther the distance, the level of satisfaction decreases. Importance-performance analysis is used to determine the priority scale of development in tourism' attractions, amenities, and accessibilities. The main development priorities include archeological, historical, and cultural sites; museums and other cultural facilities; toilet, parking lot; communication tool; and access for people with disabilities. The internal accessibility level of Surakarta City according to travel time, perception of the near distance, convenience, comfort, and security in general is good, but it still requires an increase in the use of public transportation and the provision of shady lanes.
