central in West Bandung. Not only focused on the vegetable production but the farmers in
Lembang are also a vegetable seed supplier. The consumer farmers are “customers” that live
in Lembang sub-district. The potential market expansion for marketing the seed is very possible
for farmers if they can market the seeds out of the Lembang area.
Farmway is an agribusiness startup that focuses on delivery services for vegetable seeds.
Farmway partnered with the seed farms in Lembang. Farmway provides delivery service for
vegetable seeds to consumer farmers via social media, urban farming community, and other
consumer farmers out of Lembang Area. The seed farmers and farmwway cannot market the
seeds out of Lembang because of constrained by distribution. While the amount of seeds for
once conveyance is only 10.000 – 20.000 seeds. The problems are on the seed storage and
transportation. Meanwhile, both of them are still using cardboard –leftover cardboard as a
seed container. The bad arrangement of seeds that are stacked untidily will affect the seed
breakdown. Besides, other external factors that can damage the seeds in the process
distribution are the air, excessive sunlight, temperature, rain, vibration, and bumping when
the road is bad. |
