The prototype development had been based on benchmarking to similar e-commerce web applications. Problem owner considered this method was not sufficient enough and based on the result of preliminary survey held to assess respondents’ experience in using existing e-commerce web applications on the market, it is necessary to evaluate the usability and design a proposed improvement to Inagri’s web application prototype by involving prospective users. Usability evaluation was done formatively on the attributes of effectiveness, efficiency, and user satisfaction. Evaluation was carried out using the usability testing and inquiry methods, in the form of performance measurements towards task success, time-on-task, error percentage, and eye tracking metrics, post-task and post-test questionnaires, and gaze-cued retrospective think-aloud protocol, towards tasks of log-in, buyer data input, and product purchase. The results showed the task of log-in had good effectiveness and efficiency, with low user satisfaction. The task of buyer data input also had good effectiveness, but with very low efficiency and user satisfaction. While the task of product purchase had low effectiveness, efficiency, and user satisfaction. User satisfaction towards Inagri's web application as a whole was also low with aspects of screen and terminology and system information being the largest contributors of dissatisfaction. The improvement design resulted in 22 proposals consisting of 5 general improvement proposals, 1 proposed improvement for the task of log-in, 6 proposed improvements for the task of buyer data input, and 10 proposed improvements for the task of product purchase. text |
