The area of study is about 76,43 square kilometre. The litology of this area is young sedimentary rock ( quartenary sedimentary rock), which underlain by Tertiary sediments. The young sedimentary rock consists of fluvial sediment and marine sediment. <br /> The objective of the study is to determine the waterbalance, shallow groundwater or unconfined aquifer potentiality of the research area and its recharge capacity. The methodology of study is Mock method for groundwater recharge from rainfall and Darcy method for groundwater recharge from groundwater flow to the research area.<p align="justify"> <br /> <br /> <br /> The shallow groundwater system characterised by thickness of aquifer of about 28,75 m to 40 m, flow direction from the south ( Bogor) to the north (Java Sea). <br /> Grid system is used to determine groundwater flow throughout the study area where its debit calculated by Darcy method. Width of every cell is 1 km or 1000 m while width of aquifer of every cell is 35 m in the east, 37.35 m in the west, 28.75 m in the north, and 40 m in the south part of the study area.<p align="justify"> <br /> <br /> <br /> The water table contour map of DKI Jakarta from DGTL (1992 - 1996) is used to determine the hydraulic gradient. The hydraulic conductivity of aquifer in the study area is 0.73 m/jam. This value is modus value of statistical analysis of hydraulic conductivity from 7 well pump tests that have been conducted. <br /> Results of the calculation shown that the total groundwater need for domestic and industries is about 63.435.123 m3/year. On the other hand, the shallow groundwater potential at the study area is only 13.486.348 m3/year. There will be a drop in shallow groundwater table and then some environmental risks in the study area if shallow groundwater exploitation is not limited. text
