Land navigation is one of the many skills that are highly needed in activities in mountain-forests, making it one of the mandatory sciences that must be owned & used when doing outdoor activities. However, in the implementation of land navigation education, there is a gap in understanding of topography between the understanding of land navigation theory, and how students of land navigation articulate the understanding of topographic maps into three-dimensional form.
