Description
Summary:To carry out the production process, the PTDI Production Directorate requires material from suppliers or vendors. The Material Procurement Process at PTDI is currently still experiencing problems in terms of traceability, including material documents from vendors which are incomplete, difficulties in tracing the vendor selection process, and material specification errors. Based on 2019 data, from a total of 144 cases of non-conformity in the Material Procurement process, 34 cases (24%) of incomplete material document cases were found and material specifications were incompatible with the needs of 37 cases (26%). These problems hamper the smooth running of the production process resulting in low efficiency of time and production costs. To overcome the problem of traceability in the Material Procurement process, it is necessary to improve the existing traceability system referring to the requirements listed in the AS9100 D Quality Management Standards (SMM) D (2016) using the Entity Relationship Modeling (ERM) method.
