Summary:Employees need work motivation to do their jobs properly in the company. Motivation is the way to push someone to do something. The motivation is the idea and initiative to encourage the individual to do something or perform better jobs. One way to bind employees is to motivate them to work. Various studies reveal the facts of the company employees who have a high level of involvement, have an impact on company performance, among others in terms of productivity, profitability, customer loyalty, and satisfaction. There are two types of motivation, which are intrinsic and extrinsic. Environment influences changes in a company one of which is with employees. One of the environtment is the leader itself in the company. Leadership is considered one of the important things that can motivate employees to work. Leadership is a combination of persuasion and interpersonal through the media of mutual trust in the phenomenon of communication. Leadership has many styles as autocratic, paternalistic, democratic, laissez-faire, transactional and transformational. Autocratic or authoritarian leadership style has a leadership style with individual controller characters for all decisions and only or involves a small group of members and makes the employee unvalued. This research focusing on autocratic leadership style because leader of Sini Company has this style. Sini is a start-up that run-in technology industry especially device tracker. In addition to device tracker, they also sell complementary products such as wallets, key chains and passport cases. The problem is the internal relationship in the company is less harmonious, so the members feel demotivated. They expressed demotivated because of the leader's actions. Therefore, the author analyzes the type of leadership style from Sini Company and what its effect is to member motivation. Author uses qualitative development methods namely phenomena and study cases from Sini Company. The method of data collection used by author is with leadership assessment, observation, interview and focus group discussion. From the assessment leadership style obtained result of autocratic leadership style. To find out the relationship between leadership style and motivation of Sini Company members, author uses internal and external motivation framework. The internal factor consists of recognition, achievement, possibility to growth and advancement, and the work itself. For the external factor, consist of supervision, salary provided and company rules. From the factors, there will be find the factors that make the members demotivated. The author used qualitative approaches for this study, including a pilot test for a respondent who had the parameters chosen by the author, an interview and also a focus group discussion consisting of all the sub-indicators in the question, the question used by the author was a semi-structural interview. The author used the purpose of sampling and selected the employee of Sini Company only. After the interview, the author uses open coding to explain the positive or negative propensity of the respondent. Researchers use content analysis techniques to understand the intent of interviewees. The findings is make sure that leader of Sini Company has autocratic leadership style and this leadership style affected the motivation of the teams. If the leader can treat the members better there is a possibility that the employee work motivation will increase. So that, the author recommends that before choosing a leader, it must be considered whether the prospective leader has good leadership abilities or not, whether he can encourage the members or not. Do not choose a leader carelessly because he is someone who will lead in the company and determine what the face of the company going forward.
