Summary: | In more advanced nations, there are more people who are educated and pursue business creation than there are who are idle because of the narrow field of work. This shows world entrepreneurs increasingly important in the country’s economy. President Joko Widodo has stated that an average of 14 percent of residents from developed countries is an entrepreneur. In Indonesia, the number is far below at 3.1 percent. Therefore, there is a need for Indonesia to accelerate entrepreneurship. Thus, The Government encourages the emergence of the entrepreneur in Indonesia. It should be supported by a strong desire or interest in a person, entrepreneurial interest. To foster an entrepreneurial interest, it is necessary to know the variables that affect the emergence of interest in the entrepreneurial. To become successful entrepreneurs, one key is having personality. Besides,entrepreneurial interest can also be determined by Education entrepreneurship. The purpose of this research is to know the influence of personality and entrepreneurial education on the interest of entrepreneurship at student SBM ITB and to find out which one the most dominant influence between personality and entrepreneurial education on the interest of entrepreneurship at student SBM ITB.
This study uses quantitative method. Quantitative design used in this research is case study. Case study used in this study to knows the influence of personality and education entrepreneurial on interest of entrepreneurship at student SBM ITB. Researcher conducted qualitative researcher by questionnaires. After researcher collection data, researcher started to process the data use SPSS 16.0 to a calculate data that has been collected from the questionnaire. This will be used to measured validity and reliability test, classical assumption test, and hypothesis test.
Based on the conclusions of the study that have been obtained, the suggestions can be expressed as follows: (1) Personality affects positively and significantly on the interest of entrepreneurship. Therefore students should change their mindset from becoming jobseekers to job creation. (2) Entrepreneurial education affects negatively and is not significant on the interest of entrepreneurship. Therefore, it is necessary to develop a more creative learning method towards encouraging students in the education of entrepreneurship. (3).The result for the interest in entrepreneurship of students at SBM ITB is described by the variable personality and entrepreneurial education amounted to 9%. As for the remainder, the result equals to 91% interest of entrepreneurship. This is influenced by other factors described outside of this study. In further research, more variables can be added.
